Application form along with Information Sheet will be available on and from 11.03.2014 to 31.03.2014 (from 11:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.), only on working days, in the B.Ed. Colleges affiliated to this University as well as from the Sales & Information Unit, B.U. Rajbati, Burdwan (from 11am to1.30 pm) on payment of Rs. 300/- as the cost of application form and on production of original mark sheet (either Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree whichever will fulfill the eligibility). Application form may also be downloaded from the University Website www.buruniv.ac.in.
Candidates, engaged in any other Course of Studies/Job/Full- time Research Work, shall not be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously.
Deputed candidates attention please : As per Govt. order no. ED-271/2013, dated 24.04.2013, particularly the teachers, teaching for class IX onward, will be allowed to pursue B.Ed. course under conventional mode and 50% seats will be considered for deputed teachers in the NCTE recognized (Govt., Govt. Aided, Self-financed & University Dept.) Institutions.
As per order no. ED-S/1(4)/2014, dated 08.01.2014, the last date of release of deputed teacher trainees will be 30th June of every year instead of 15th May as the course runs from 1st July to 30th June of the every academic session according to NCTE norms.
Each deputed candidate must verify eligibility & availability of method subjects as mentioned below before collecting the application form (White coloured).
Each fresh candidate must verify eligibility, age, availability of method subjects and category of application form to be issued to him/ her as mentioned below before collecting the application form.
Only 5% seats of the fresh candidates in each College will be considered for the students of Other than Burdwan University and separate list will be prepared for them.
Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) with at least 50% marks either in Bachelor's Degree and/or in Master's Degree in Arts/Science/Fine Arts/Music/Commerce or any other qualification equivalent thereto, be eligible for application. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC, ST and PWD (Persons with disabilities) categories.
N.B. :
50% or 45% marks (as the case may be) in Bachelor's Degree with Hons. may be determined either on the basis of Hons. marks only or on the basis of Hons. marks & marks of the Elective Subjects taken together.
Age of the Fresh Candidates as on 30th June, 2014 shall not exceed 38 years and there shall be relaxation of 5 years in favour of PWD category candidates.
In each college 22% & 6% of total seats shall be kept reserved for SC & ST candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) respectively and PWD candidates will enjoy a 3% reservation in each of the categories, i.e. in SC, ST and in the Unreserved or General category.
Only 5% seats of the Fresh candidates in each College will be considered for the students of Other than Burdwan University and separate list will be prepared for them.

Category of Application Form
- Whether a fresh applicant shall get the application form either for the students of Burdwan University (yellow form) or for the students of Other than Burdwan University (pink form) that will be determined on the basis of the Mark Sheet of the last Examination passed or the last Certificate (in case of M. Phil. or Ph. D. holders).

Availability of Application Form
- Application forms shall be available on and from 11.03.2014 to 31.03.2014 (from 11am to 2.30 pm), only on working days, in the B.Ed. Submission of Application Form
- Before submitting the application forms, candidates must ensure that they have carefully and neatly entered their detailed information and the marks in different columns of the forms. Any overwriting or double writing should be avoided. They should also preferably use ball-point pen while filling the application forms.

- Duly filled in application form, issued from any affiliated B.Ed. College, shall be submitted, either personally or by messenger, to the Office of the Principal of the College concerned.
- Duly filled in application form, issued from Sales & Information Unit, B.U., shall be submitted to the counter of the Receiving Section, B.U., Rajbati, Burdwan, to be opened for this purpose.
- Duly filled in downloaded application form, along with a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (ie. cost of application form) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, B.U., payable at SBI, B.U. Branch, Burdwan, shall be submitted to the Office of the Secretary, U.G. Council, B.U., Rajbati, Burdwan.
- Fresh candidates must enclose Xerox attested copies of Admit Card [M.P.(S.E.) or equivalent], Mark Sheets of all the public examinations passed and certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/or Ph.D., if any.

Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation under SC/ST category, must enclose attested photo copy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B. GOVT. MEMO NO.1813-BCW/MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, 2011.
The certificate must be obtained from one of the authorities listed below :- Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal.
- Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata, Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata, Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. District Magistrate, Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe and ordinary residing within such jurisdictions.
- Deputed Candidates must enclose Xerox attested copies of Admit Card [ M.P.(S.E.) or equivalent], Mark Sheets of all the public examinations passed, certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/or Ph.D., if any and the copy(ies) of approval for the post(s) held at present and earlier along with the resolution of the Managing Committee of the School concerned (present employer). Teachers, teaching for class IX onward in the Govt. Aided Institutions only, shall be considered as Deputed Candidates. Their application forms must be countersigned by the concerned District Inspector of Schools/Competent Authority otherwise, their application forms shall be treated as cancelled.
- No Candidate needs to submit more than one application form as the selection shall be made through central counselling.
- Last date of submission of forms : 31.03.2014 (upto 3:00 P.M.). Submission of application form by post should be avoided.

For PWD Candidates only :
Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation under PWD category, must enclose attested photo copy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim and the certificate must be obtained from the authority not below the rank of a Superintendent of Sub-Divisional Hospital. In the certificate, the extent of Physical disability must not be less than 40%. However, such candidates must appear personally with all relevant medical reports as well as the certificate in original before the Medical Board, constituted for this purpose, as per the following schedule for determining their eligibility for admission under PWD category :Colleges & Districts Date Time Venue Candidates (PWD) who have submitted their application forms in the counter of receiving section, B.U., U.G. - For Deputed Candidates of all categories (Gen., SC, ST & PWD), provisional merit list along with waiting list shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service. In case of same length of service of two or more candidates, the 2nd and 3rd criteria shall be Academic Score and Date of Birth respectively.

Separate list for deputed applicants shall be prepared as per the following groups :
- Language & Social Science Group : (Beng., Eng., Sans., Hin., Geo., Hist., Econ., Pol. Sc. / Socio., Phil., Edn., Mus., Commerce)
- Life Science Group : (Zoo., Bot., Physio., Bio-tech., Nutri, Micro-bio., Env.Sc.)
- Physical Science Group : (Phy., Elect., Chem., Bio- chem.)
- Math. / Stat. / Comp. Application / Comp. Sc. / Comp. Sc. & Engineering or Information Technology.

For Fresh Candidates of all categories (Gen., SC, ST & PWD), subject wise provisional merit list along with waiting list shall be prepared on the basis of their Grade Points to be computed as per the following norms :
- 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the M.P.(S.E.) or Equivalent Examination.
- 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the H.S.(10+2). or Equivalent Examination.

- 15% of the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Gen.) Examination or,
- 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at the Hons. or equivalent Examination ( In this case the marks of Elective/Subsidiary subjects shall not be considered).
- 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at Post Graduate Examination

- Ad hoc 5 marks shall be awarded for M. Phil. Degree or,
- Ad hoc 8 marks shall be awarded for Ph. D. degree.
Last date of submission of application form : 31.03.2014 (upto 3:00 P.M.).
